Checked out Arizona Wilderness’s Downtown Phoenix location last week with the fam and am pleased to share it’s a fantastic alternative to some of the other places downtown. I once waited for an hour for a check because our server disappeared from another ale house so really the bar wasn’t high, but even if it was AZ Wilderness would have passed. We tried the Muck Elbow which was an English mild at 3.9% and the Bear Wallow with wood notes labeled a Berliner Weisse coming in around 3.9%. The kids ordered hamburgers; Americana Burger, Counter Culture Black Bean Burger and Chicken Fingers + Fries. The Husband ordered their AZ hot fried chicken sandwich, which was slathered in hot sauce and spice AF. I opted for the Buffalo Cauliflower sharables – even though there was not a chance in hell I was gonna share them. And because of my lastest obsession with finding the best french fries in Phoenix we all got sides of duck fat fries. The Honey Mustard dipping sauce for the fingers and fries was good enough to get me to try a bite of their chicken (I’m usually vegetarian) so if that tells you anything, it probably tells you to order an extra side of sauce.
